Longjing tea, also known as Dragon Well, is a pan-fired green tea from the West Lake region of Hangzhou, China, celebrated for its flat, jade-green leaves and signature chestnut and orchid aroma. Description

Overview

Longjing Green Tea, also known as Dragon Well, is produced mostly by hand and holds the prestigious “China Famous Tea” title due to its exceptional quality and heritage.

Region and Origin

This tea traces its name to Longjing Village, located on the southwest shore of West Lake in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.
The West Lake region encompasses five historic Dragon Well villages—Mei Jia Wu, Shi Feng, Yunxi, Hupao, and Longjing—each imparting unique fragrance notes based on terroir.

Authenticity & Certification

Our Longjing is sourced exclusively from the core West Lake production area and undergoes stringent authentication measures, including official stickers issued by the West Lake District Tea Industry Committee.
It features no flavorings, preservatives, or additives, ensuring pure, natural tea in every batch.

Harvest & Production

The harvest season spans a brief six weeks starting in late March, with the finest quality leaves picked in the first two weeks (pre-Grain Rain) for supreme tenderness and flavor.
Immediately after hand-picking, leaves are withered in the shade and then hand-roasted in a wok to halt oxidation, preserving their vibrant green hue and developing characteristic nutty notes.

Flavor Profile

Longjing delivers a balanced spectrum of flavors—from savory, toasty notes of chestnut and nuts to refreshing hints of fresh beans and orchid.
Top-grade Longjing is celebrated for its delicate sweetness, smooth mouthfeel, and lingering, mellow finish.

Health Benefits

Thanks to its lower steeping temperature, Longjing tea contains approximately half the caffeine of black tea and is exceptionally rich in antioxidants (catechins and polyphenols), which support skin health, provide anti-inflammatory benefits, and help reduce the risk of common diseases.
Its high vitamin C content and amino acids also contribute to immune support and overall wellness.
